But Now I See
10 years seems like a lot of time
Yet 10 years is nothing compared to eternity
So how do I make it count?
In 10 years from now, if my ideal career path were to come to fruition, women’s lives would be changed by the power of the Gospel
In 10 years from now, older women would be discipling younger women, just as Titus 2:3-5 describes
Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.
In 10 years from now, our Women’s Ministry would have a sister church in a developing country
We would be prayer warriors for one another
We would visit one another
We would encourage one another in the faith
We would take care of one another-physically, mentally, spiritually
Our Women’s ministry would have an Acts 1:8 model towards mission and discipleship.
We would reach our Jerusalem, our Judea, our Samaria, and to the ends of the earth
We would minister to women in the sexual slave industry
We would minister to the homeless population and provide childcare for their babies
We would have “festivals” of remembrance for what God has done in our Ministry, just as the people of Israel would participate in festivals in order to remember what God has done.
And by this time, the Lord will have guided me in writing a book on waiting.
My vision for my book A Thousand Years as One Day is a reflection of the spiritual disciple on waiting.
Our journey of longsuffering and waiting on this earth, whether it be for a husband, family, ministry, church, etc. points us to the great longsuffering of waiting for His eternal promises to be fulfilled.
To the Lord, a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day (2 Peter 3:8)
But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
Our suffering and impatience are but a day to the Lord.
In light of eternity, our suffering is but a mist
So how do we suffer well, bending our knee towards the anticipation of our eternal promise?
This book would build up the body of Christ as Kingdom living servants, willing to suffer and do it well for God’s glory.
Oh I pray the Lord uses me in these ways, and that He will surpass all that I could ever ask for in order to further His Kingdom
